Nonattachment

Nonattachment

Today I will practice the concept of nonattachment in my affairs. I recognize that my idea of ownership is an illusion. The things of this world are here for me to use and when I am finished, to pass them on to someone else to care for. When I am overly attached to people, places and things and something goes wrong with any of them, I assume I have gone wrong. It is one of life’s paradoxes that I can love better if I am less identified with the object of my love. I am something eternal that can never be destroyed. I am a part of a higher energy that unites all things.
I am identified not with what I see but with who I am spiritually.
Make up your mind . . . before it is too late, that the fitting thing for you to do is to live as a mature man who is making progress, and let everything which seems to be best for you be a law that must not be
transgressed . . .
