A Look Within

A Look Within

It is my eyes that filter the experiences of my life, my mind that makes decisions about how I relate to circumstances and my feelings that give situations personal meaning. Whatever is in me shapes and defines how I experience my outer world. Today, as I contemplate what outer changes I might make to feel happy, I will also contemplate what inner changes I will make. I am genuinely curious about what is in my inner world because recovery has taught me that my inner world drives and novitiates me. It is the part of me that gives weighting to experience. Today, I will look within to better understand what I create in my outer world.  I will give myself the gift of inner growth.
Inner change becomes outward change and vice versa
People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.
