Honest Living

Honest Living

Soul cannot shine through a distorted lens; it cannot operate through a dishonest life, a life filled with pretense and subtle lies. I will be honest and genuine in the way I live. I won’t pretend to be what I am not in order to look good. Living well requires a constant vigilance, constant awareness. When I don’t pay attention to the way I live, it is all too easy to slip into bad habits and nonproductive ways of thinking, behaving and conducting myself. I will live mindfully today.
I live an honest life.
If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you; If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting, too, If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies, Or being hated, don’t give way to hating, And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise; If you can dream – and not makes dreams your master, If you can think – and not make thoughts your aim, If you can meet Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same.
